A new year has come, and with that, the beavers have come too! It was quite messy, and we needed lots of cigarettes afterwards, but we came none the less.....Anywhoooo, now that I've grossed you all out, the first practice will be this Wednesday at 5:30, and the first show will be on Friday at 8:00pm in the SCC.

For those of you who got the facebook email I sent....I'm not sorry cause you needed to read this twice because I am just that awesome.

Octoberprov - Chris

Sunday, October 5, 2008

Well, the first month is over with and Thanksgiving and Halloween are fast approaching! We will continue to have shows every Friday despite the long weekend and loss of most of the Beavers. The BCian, displaced Newfie and 'murican with girl parts will be showering whatever audience shows up with the show for the ages, featuring rarely performed two and three person games, since we don't have 10 people playing!

With the addition of a couple of very skilled-in-the-actual-science-of-REAL-improv newcomers we've revised our workshop methods and have seen improvement in our theatrical skills already. Welcome to the new and improved Angry Beavers - funnier, positive(er) and more physical than... the past couple of years at least! :)

We're back, and with an army! - Stephen

Monday, September 15, 2008

We had our first show of the 2008-2009 year....well academic year.....Can't we just call it time when we pay to learn, but don't really learn? Either way, our show was kickass! We had an audience of about 47, give or take Jon's vision. We had some newbies come both to pre-show practice and to Paddy's afterwards! Yay! People are starting to run away less and less.

Be sure to stay with us, and check out our practices and shows!

Cap'n Misinformation - Flora

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Okay, these dates are actually right...ish.

*Clubstravaganza- TOMORROW, (wednesday) September 10th, from 5-7. Look for our table. If you are a new or current beaver and are able to make it to come hang out for a while, we're doing this instead of practice, so join. It'll be merry, and probably very confusing. And Fantastic. And maybe there will be some actual improv happening to lure in hapless victims...or er...audience members, if you will.
*Practices: WEDNESDAYS at 5:30 in the SCC. this should be going to 6:30. However it may go longer. We are not known for our awareness of time passing. This has been CHANGED from Tuesdays because many of us are all imprisoned by the institution of learning at the time we normally have practice.
*Shows: Fri....days? at....8? in the SCC. As far as I know, no one has taken over the _entire_ SUB this week,so we are good to go. Which means we actually have to ...perform. Crap. About that... Also, we miss Devon.
That's It.

First show = First postpone - Ross

Thursday, September 4, 2008

This Friday, Acadia is having its super-sub, or frosh formal, or drunken hootenanny or whatever, so the show's off for now. Join everyone instead as they find somewhere else to go and something else to do.

Yes, we have that few friends and activities, that sitting around lamenting the lack of improv is plan B for a friday night.

There Ain't No Party Like My Nanna's Tea Party - Flora

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

So some more updates-
*Frosh week workshop- Done and awesome. We aquired a shite-ton of willing and eager newbies, some of whome thoroughly schooled us in most of the games we're bad at. It was awesome. Some of them also have Prior Improv Experience. Which is more than some of us had when we started- a very promising sign. I have insider information that one may be a ninja, and two are actually FBI agents. The rest of them are clearly from another dimension where square-wheeled bicycles are a common form of transportation.
*First Show- THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th. This will be in the Student Conference Center as usual. at 8pm. It is free for everyone except for you. You have to pay us in blood or we will come to your house and steal all your dairy products. I'm kidding. Just Stephen will.
*Practices- These will continue as per tradition (?) on Tuesdays from 7-8pm in the SCC (student conference center in the basement of the SUB) (read: the same place we have shows) Anyone is welcome. This is where we workshop games, plan shows, discuss meaningless information, plot the overthrowing of key political figures running third world countries and generally hang out.
*Clubstravaganza- still no idea when that is. Technological fail.

That's about it. Hope to see all of you ( all two?) at either a show or a practice.

Back in the Game - Flora

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

The leaves are starting to turn neon rave colours and everyone I know is buying sweaters and leaving, which must mean school is starting again...which means improv is starting again...which means...Good Things! And cupcakes.
I put an update on our Stalkerbook group about things starting up again- we're really good at 'vague' there. So I'll continue the 'vague' here.
Stuff that is happening:
*Improv Workshop through frosh week, Sept 1st, location TBA, at 10 am.
*Clubstravaganza- day TBA ( which means I'm sure this is already on an academic calendar and I'm the only one who doesn't know what day it is. and will put the day here when I read it like everyone else) This is where we try and get you to come hang out with us weekly. We may or may not use cash bribes to make this possible. Or sell members of our team into slavery to fun our activities.
*Practices...previously Tuesday at 7, now, in the 13th hour, in the 5th dimension? or...also TBA?
*Shows on Fridays at 8 in the student conference center in the basement of the SUB unless we somehow blow it up, or aren't allowed back because of our foul body odour or bad primate-like behaviour.
*General shenaningans.
*Maybe Night Kitchens, if we bribe them? or If they still like our funny? (hm that sounds naughty)
*AUIC.....far far far in the future. (Atlantic University Improv Challenge...of awesome.)

Also, stephen's adopted.
and um.

COME JOIN US. EVERYONE GRADUATED AND NOW WE'RE SO ALONE.

Summer Without Improv - Stephen

Friday, July 4, 2008

A notice to members of the Angry Beavers, being without you guys and improv is so weird and very hard to do. I miss improving so much already. I feel like going out on my street and just acting out a scene all on my own. It's quite sad really.

I can't wait to get back and improv with you all again!

Miss yall, and lots of love
